ABOUT THE ALBUM
The latest edition of this popular series featuring the Benny Goodman Orchestra which documents the complete series of radio programs broadcast during the latter part of the 1940s. This CD, volume Fifteen, includes as guests, the British song stylist, Beryl Davis who was never as acclaimed as her favorite singer, Ella Fitzgerald, but she had a momentous career working with Django Reinhardt, Glenn Miller and Frank Sinatra. Dennis Day appeared for the first time on Jack Benny's radio show on October 8, 1939, taking the place of another famed tenor, Kenny Baker. He remained associated with Benny's radio and television programs until Benny's death in 1974.
