ABOUT THE ALBUM
Before coming to the U.S. with dreams of playing with Stan Kenton (his dreams promptly came true), this Canadian trumpet star led his own band in Montreal. He returned almost two decades later, performing with his sextet and with his orchestra at the Montreal Exposition in July 1967. These 2 CDs bring you both performances: I Can't Get Started; Polecat; Over the Rainbow; Take the 'A' Train; 'Round About Midnight; Alfie; Whisper Not; Who Can I Turn To; Summertime Revisited, and more!
