Bing and Friends

(2-CD set) Memorable recordings sprung from Bing's associations with the Andrews Sisters and Louis Armstrong, both of which are represented here; but his legendary partnership with Bob Hope produced a mere handful of sides and despite his numerous radio appearances with Al Jolson, Judy Garland and others, the portfolio is, again, woefully slim. These collaborations on radio often provided the catalyst for some of Bing's finest performances and it is hoped that this album will serve to illustrate the point. So, let's join, not only, Bing Crosby but also, a host of his famous friends in this delightful two for the price of one package of entertainment history. Tracks are: Disc One: Baby You Can Count on Me (with Peggy Lee); Songs Gotta Come from the Heart (with Jimmy Durante); La Barrachita (with Lena Romay); Go West Young Man (with Groucho Marx); Timber Trail/You Are My Sunshine (with Ezio Pinza); Anything You Can Do (with Ethel Merman); Clementine (with Burl Ives); Until the Next Time (with Mickey Rooney); Indian Summer (with Dorothy Kirsten); I Still suits Me (with Peggy Lee); for What (with Bob Hope); Michigan Medley (with Beatrice Lilley); Brahms Lullaby (with Danny Kaye); Keep on Smiling (with Fred Allen); Whispering/Bye bye Baby (with Al Jolson) Disc Two: Dearie (with Ethel Merman); Lazybones (with Louis Armstrong); the Wedding Samba (with the Andrews Sisters); Lonesome in the Saddle (with Fred Allen); Just the Way You Are (with Judy Garland); Yes Sir!
