ABOUT THE ALBUM
When conductor Andre Kostelanetz and his producer Goddard Lieberson decided to record The Carnival Of The Animals in April 1949, they felt that Saint Saens' witty music could be made more satirical by adding witty verse. The man they chose to write the verses was Ogden Nash. To Speak Nash's lines they selected the English actor-composer-playright Noel Coward. The Carnival Of The Animals is great fun. Children have loved it for nearly a century. The Mother Goose Suite is musical pantomime. Like The Carnival Of The Animals children have enjoyed it for a hundred years. Andre Kostelanetz, his orchestra and guests have given us two wonderful journeys into the magical world of childhood and a Christmas treat for Children of all ages, everywhere.
