ABOUT THE ALBUM
Long-awaited two-on-one CD edition of acclaimed singer-songwriter Valerie Carter's two Columbia solo albums - Just A Stone's Throw Away (1977) and Wild Child (1978). Includes bonus track 'Let's Be Lovers Again' - her 1980 hit duet with Eddie Money. The late great Valerie Carter was a singers-singer - who through her career sang backup for everyone from James Taylor and Jimmy Webb to Willie Nelson and Neil Diamond as well as a hit songwriter for Judy Collins and Jackson Browne. A lost classic of post Laurel Canyon Americana, Just A Stone's Throw Away features her warm, soulful cover of the Five Stairsteps' 'Ooh Child' and a stellar supporting cast including Linda Ronstadt, Maurice White (Earth Wind & Fire), Lowell George (Little Feat), Jackson Browne, Deniece Williams and more.
