I've Got A Feeling

Repressing. UK collection from the R&B vocalist and pianist. Big Maybelle's mountainous stature matched the sheer soulful power of her massive vocal talent. Her deep, gravelly voice was as singular as her many hits for Okeh and Savoy, which ranged from down-in-the-alley Blues to Pop-slanted ballads. This compilation offers the very best of Big Maybelle1s Rhythm And Blues recordings from the 1950's and includes all of her chart hits from that decade. Backed by the great bands of Leroy Kirkland, Danny Mendelsohn, Quincy Jones, Kelly Owens and Alan Freed which, if you look closely, are basically all drawn from the same pool of peerless New York session musicians; this is powerful stuff indeed! Cherry Red.
