To The Sun & All The Cities In Between

To celebrate it's 10th anniversary, Chesky Records is proud to present the first-ever, limited-numbered vinyl pressing of City Of The Sun's acclaimed debut album, To the Sun and All the Cities in Between. Beginning their journey busking in the subways and streets of New York City before exploding onto the global stage, the genre defying trio-comprising John Pita, Avi Snow, and Zach Para-made a massive commercial impact upon the album's initial release, charting at #12 on the Billboard Jazz Albums chart. Built on a reputation for relentless international touring and a dedicated global following, this landmark instrumental release has long been an elusive favorite for physical media collectors. Utilizing just two acoustic guitars, a percussion box, and bells, the world-class trio delivers a sweeping instrumental soundscape that acts as a total reinvention of acoustic music. Moving effortlessly from widescreen post-rock dynamics and modern ambient atmospheres to frenetic flamenco-style guitar work and gypsy jazz syncopations, the trio proves that you do not need vocals to completely captivate a listener. The tracklist is anchored by their legendary, atmospheric live arrangements, yielding a highly experiential musical journey that culminates in the monumental closing track, ""Everything""-a signature staple of their catalog that has amassed over 23 million streams on Spotify. Recorded on December 16th, 2015, at the historic Hirsch Center in Brooklyn, New York, the performance stands as a definitive high point of the band's early legacy. Captured as part of the Chesky Binaural+ Series using a single ultra high-resolution microphone setup, the recording ensures unparalleled spatial realism, precise imaging, and multi dimensional depth. A must-have treasure for audiophiles and alternative music fans alike, To the Sun and All the Cities in Between will be released on SACD Hybrid Stereo and 180g One-Step Pressing Pale Pink/Blush Vinyl LP, featuring a striking custom gradient designed to perfectly complement the original cover art.
