Fakevox

'With it's pop yet uniquely off-kilter sound evocative of the Akishibu scene, Fakevox?widely regarded as Plus-Tech Squeeze Box's signature work and ultimate creative peak?is finally getting the long-awaited vinyl release. Formed in 1997 by Betomonori Hayashi, Junko Kamada, and Takeshi Wakiya, Plus-Tech Squeeze Box is also known for their contribution to the SpongeBob SquarePants soundtrack. Throughout their career, PSB have fused cuteness and avant-garde sensibilities, pop accessibility and experimental spirit, at an exceptionally high level. This album explodes with forward-thinking artificial vocal processing that prefigures Vocaloid aesthetics, obsessively constructed beats and melodies, and an unmistakable sense of ironic pop running through every track. Dizzying shifts and highly addictive phrases appear one after another, offering new discoveries with every listen. Though unmistakably ahead of it's time, the sound of Fakevox remains strikingly fresh, resonating strongly with today's hyperpop audience and listeners shaped by post-internet music culture. A defining statement of 2000s electronica and chiptune, Fakevox encapsulates PSB's unique blend of aesthetics, madness, and overwhelming pop sensibility?now ready to be rediscovered in full through this much-anticipated vinyl release.
