Donovan's Sunshine Superman is reissued as part of the Donovan Paper Sleeve Collection Vol. 2, commemorating the 60th anniversary of his debut in 2025 and his upcoming 80th birthday in 2026, presented as the first-ever paper sleeve edition that faithfully reproduces the US original LP with an A-style jacket, complete with a replica Japanese LP obi strip and inner sleeve, featuring a brand-new 2026 remaster pressed on high-quality Blu-spec CD2 and including new liner notes, lyrics, and Japanese and English translations; originally released in 1966, the album became Donovan's US breakthrough with the No.1 hit "Sunshine Superman" and the classic "Season of the Witch," marking a major shift away from traditional folk toward a blend of medieval-inspired lyrics, Celtic folk, and Indian music that helped pioneer the psychedelic era, featuring notable guitar work by Jimmy Page during his time as a sought-after session musician, reaching No.11 on the US album chart, solidifying Donovan's international reputation, and including five bonus tracks in this edition.
