The Stars Above

The Bandulus return with The Stars Above, their most soulful and inspired album to date. Recorded at the legendary House of Soul, Daptone Records in Brooklyn, New York, the album marks a bold step forward for the band, blending classic reggae, early ska, and soul with raw emotion and sharp songwriting. Helmed by frontman Jeremy Peña, The Stars Above showcases the group’s signature heartfelt melodies and timeless grooves, elevated by the analog warmth and authenticity of Daptone’s storied studio. Driven by themes of love, loss, and resilience, The Stars Above is a testament to The Bandulus’ growth as songwriters and musicians. Backed by a tight rhythm section, lush horns, and Peña’s soulful vocals, the album is both a love letter to the golden era of Jamaican music and a modern soul revival. With production that captures the spirit of Studio One and the grit of Memphis soul, The Stars Above cements The Bandulus as torchbearers of a deeply rooted, genre-defying sound.
