The story of this influential band and their adventures in France 1965 to 1968. One of the best ways to savour the delights of hearing a classic British group performing their hits live is to lift the arm of a record player and drop the stylus into the spinning groove of a shiny vinyl LP. Just wait for the sound to blast out of those hi-fi speakers and you'll be transported back in time to a golden era of rock. The Yardbirds Live In France has to be the perfect long player to satisfy the needs of the most discerning fans of those Swinging 60s pioneers of revolutionary sounds. This album comprises 15 live recordings compiled from radio broadcasts and TV shows when the Yardbirds were appearing in France during the years 1965 to 1968. We hear the group when lead singer Keith Relf was supported first by young guitar master Jeff Beck and later by rising star Jimmy Page, soon to form his own group Led Zeppelin.
