1940-45

Before even turning 20, Georgie Auld had already played more solos on records and seen more action in the big band business than many seasoned pros twice his age. His early experiences with Bunny Berigan, Artie Shaw and Benny Goodman may have been responsible for the fact that many of his later achievements tend to be unduly overlooked. However, for a short period in the mid-forties, Auld fronted one of the most exciting big bands of the time. Includes Angel / I Want My Mama / This Is Romance / Juke Box Jump / Shake Down The Stars / Imagination / With The Wind And The Rain In Your Hair / Sweet Sue / Just You / Pickup Boys / Porgy / Uptown Lullaby / Salt Peanuts / Sweet And Lovely / Concerto For Tenor / Taps Miller and others.
