[OPTDEMISE = It is a coined term combining “Opt” (choice), “Optimize,” and “Demise” (death/ending)] The five-piece band coldrain from Nagoya, Japan, make their global return with their eighth full-length album, “OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE”, to be released via Century Media Records. The album expands on their 2025 digital EP “OPTIMIZE”, which introduced the first five tracks. With a total of 12 songs, “OPTIMIZE = OPTDEMISE” continues and completes the record’s narrative while expanding coldrain’s diversity. Exploring themes of technological evolution, the album poses a central question: will humanity continue to evolve or drive itself towards demise? Musically, coldrain refine the elements that have shaped their global stand in the metal scene: stadium-ready melodies, the high-energy intensity associated with Japanese bands, and powerful, aggressive vocals.
