Pinnacle (Rsd)

Buster Williams’ Pinnacle (1975) is a masterful blend of spiritual jazz, post-bop, and early fusion, showcasing the bassist’s vision as a composer and bandleader. Recorded at Blue Rock Studios with a stellar lineup—including Woody Shaw, Sonny Fortune, Onaje Allan Gumbs, and Billy Hart—the album features richly textured arrangements, deep grooves, and expressive solos. From the cosmic funk of “The Hump” to the lyrical beauty of “Tayamisha,” Pinnacle reflects the creative momentum of Williams' post-Mwandishi years. It’s a landmark session that bridges tradition and exploration, newly remastered for audiophiles with restored analog warmth and dynamic depth. Remastered & Cut AAA directly from the original analog tapes by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab. Pressed on 180g vinyl at Optimal Media and housed in Stoughton Old Style® Tip-On Jackets.
