Mainstream

Polish Jazz vol. 40; reedition of the album relaesed in 1974; Limited numbered edition (180g blue vinyl) for the 50th anniversary of the Jan Ptaszyn Wrobewski and Wojciech Karolak album's 'Mainstream' release. The album was recorded by the legends of Polish jazz. 'Mainstream' is pure jazz based on clear and well-tested forms, with improvisations performed by unquestionable authorities. Far from mapping out new paths in music or trying to shock the audience, Mainstream quartet demonstrates, plainly and simply, it's attachment to the fundamental values of jazz music, which are a must for anyone willing to become educated in this genre. The album is a great listening experience! Everyone will find something to match their tastes on this album. Some will follow and enjoy the broad arches of Ptaszyn's solos, others - Karolak's unequalled timing, harmonic imagination, and blues nerve, or the untypical guitar manner of Marek Blizinski. The whole is anchored in the section's solid foundation provided by Bartkowski's distinct, swinging beat.Jan Ptaszyn Wroblewski - Tenor Saxophone Wojciech Karolak - Hammond Organ Drums - Czeslaw BartkowskiGuitar - Marek Blizinski
