9 (Blue)

Picture disc pressing. Not many bands can claim to be as influential as Mercyful Fate. As one of the early purveyors of true metal, the band's impact is felt far and wide; from the new wave of black metals' Cradle Of Filth and Dimmu Borgir to international metal gods Megadeth and Metallica. 9 (1999) is the seventh and final album from the Danish heavy metal legends. With production duties handled by Kol Marshall, 9 marked the welcome return of a more streamlined and brutal sound not heard since their monumental 1984 effort Don't Break The Oath. As King Diamond put it: "the melody is there without sacrificing the brutality." Vibrant picture disc pressing with original artwork by acclaimed Swedish artist Thomas Holm (King Diamond, Wolf, Brainstorm).
