ABOUT THE ALBUM
2024 release. Mervin Mayo, the Richmond, VA cop who went viral in 2020 with millions of views of him seated in uniform, playing a portable keyboard, belting out gospel songs at a church rehearsal, is releasing his album, 'God Did It.' This nine-track delivery pairs his raspy sandpapery tenor with bold messages of faith, heightened by retro R&B flavors. Mervin's captivating tenor fluctuates between tender high notes & gritty low ones filling your ears with hues of treasured soul men such as David Ruffin, Bobby Womack, & The Dells' Marvin Junior. All of what Mayo presents comes with a palette of classic soul & 90s R&B colors, saturated with a passionate message of inspiration!
