ABOUT THE ALBUM
Blues and R&B vocal dynamo Janiva Magness is on top of the blues world, winning the Blues Music Awards for B.B. King Entertainer of the Year in 2009 and Female Artist of the Year in 2006 and 2007. On THE DEVIL IS AN ANGEL TOO, Magness' gritty, powerhouse vocals infuse tales of love and loss with a cathartic mixture of scorching intensity and smoldering resolve. The music has a spare, jagged feel that accentuates Magness' emotional investment in hard-hitting songs by Joe Tex, Nick Lowe, Julie Miller and more.
