The Sea of Emotion

The Black 2LP Gatefold edition of "The Sea Of Emotion" contains 10 tracks spread across four vinyl sides and is released on heavyweight black vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. "The Sea Of Emotion" is the first collaborative studio album by Joe Satriani and Steve Vai as SatchVai. It is not merely a case of two solo careers sharing a record, but rather a collection of songs born from the direct interaction between the two musicians. Satriani’s melodic sensibility meets Vai’s more experimental approach, with both artists constantly picking up, modifying, and building upon each other's ideas. Joe Satriani: “The biggest surprise was that we write in completely different ways, and that’s what made the project so fun and interesting.” The musical spectrum ranges from the straightforward "Mayhem" and the heavy groove of "Bronco Freight Train"—through "Dancing" and "I Wanna Play My Guitar" (featuring Glenn Hughes)—to the three-part "The Sea Of Emotion" suite.
