A truly mufti-talented artist, he was a blazing boogie-woogie pianist, though he is best remembered as an innovative guitarist who influenced Bo Diddley and Ike Turner. Some sources claim he was the first guitarist to use reverb and feedback to make music and his guitar playing tapped the full range of the instrument's potential. Watson was also a prolific songwriter and a soulful singer.
