ABOUT THE ALBUM
El Hadj M'hamed El Anka in Arabic, whose real name was Mohamed Idir Aït Ouarab, was born in the Casbah of Algiers on May 20, 1907 to a family from Freha in the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou in Grande Kabylie. He was the precursor and master of Algerian chaâbi song, and died on November 23, 1978.
