ABOUT THE ALBUM

Donna Summer's catalogue has sold more than 130 million units worldwide and her music is still relevant today, as her music continues to fill the radio airwaves, appears in TV programmes, movies, as well as TV commercials. 1984's "CATS WITHOUT CLAWS" is the third album released for Geffen Records, which was produced by Michael Omartian who had Produced "She Works Hard For The Money" a year earlier. He gave the album a mid-'80s dance/pop themed sound, which showcased Donna's talents yet again. The album includes the singles 'Supernatural Love', 'There Goes My Baby' and 'Eyes'. The Album reached the Top 30 in several countries across Europe, also becoming a Top 40 album in the USA and Japan. Donna won a Grammy Award for Best Inspirational Performance for the album's final track, 'Forgive Me'. To celebrate the album's 40th Anniversary, "CATS WITHOUT CLAWS" has received a reawakening, with five tracks being remixed for this milestone release. Steve Anderson (Kylie Minogue/Britney Spears/Brothers In Rhythm/Claire Richards/Delta Goodrem/Take That/Westlife), 7 th Heaven, Ladies On Mars and ShyBoy (Hollywood Music In Media Award 'Best Male Vocal' on Hypnogaja's version of Donna's 'On The Radio'), all add a special spark and contemporary gloss to half of the Album. This newly mastered vinyl 2LP set pressed on Hot Pink & White Colour vinyl, also contains the non-Album 'b'-side 'Face The Music', as well as the original 'Eyes' [Extended Mix], lyrics, a newly authored 6,000+ word essay by noted US writer Christian John Wikane, featuring new and his own archive interviews conducted with Album Producer Michael Omartian, designer Jeff Fey, Video Director Ian Leech, John 'Jellybean' Benitez, Reba Rambo and Bruce Sudano. The essay also includes contributions from the four Producers. The lead single, 'Forgive Me [Steve Anderson Remix]', is released 6 th December, starting the 4-month pre-release campaign, up until the album's release. "CATS WITHOUT CLAWS"? No, they're even more razor-sharp!
