ABOUT THE ALBUM

Goodnight Moonshine is a collaboration of songwriters Molly Venter of the chart-topping Americana group Red Molly, and Eben Pariser of the explosive Brooklyn quintet Roosevelt Dime. Steeped in the 90's alternative music of their youth, Goodnight Moonshine plays modern folk music with brazen vocals and roots & blues guitar. Imagery-rich stories and bold melodies create a sound that is both celebratory and mournful, reminding the listener of what it felt like to fall in love with a band for the first time. Album Credits: Dedicated to Josiah B. Work I Done (Venter) Molly wrote this song after spending Father's Day in the Brooklyn Naval Museum at the end of her street. 2. All Our Friends (Venter/Pariser) A wedding song written for our friends Reif and Katie. The recording came out more edgy than sweet- we hope they don't mind. 3. Big Enough (Pariser/Venter) This love song called for a modern interpretation with big-screen punch. Big enough? 4. Gasoline (Venter) Good old burn-down-the-house heartbreak. 5. Goodnight Moonshine (Venter) This is for my Mom, from my Dad. ~m 6. End of the World Blues (Pariser) Eben wrote this after meeting two Jehovah's Witnesses at his doorstep. 7. Willow Tree (Pariser/Venter) The first song we wrote together: Eben had a killer chorus and Molly found the rest of the story. 8. Walkin' After Midnight (Block/Hecht) One of the first songs we played together. 9. Light At the End of the Day (Venter/Pariser) Red Molly and Roosevelt Dime hold a monthly songwriting hootenanny; here's one from 'The Hang.' 10. Dark Side of the Rainbow (various) Eben's high-school discovery; definitive proof that Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side of the Moon' was intended to play along with 'The Wizard of Oz.' 11. Winston-Salem (Venter) In 2007, Molly opened a show for the great Malcolm Holcolmbe, inspiring this song.
