ABOUT THE ALBUM

The Album: Motorhome was written over a period of one year that Lance spent living on the streets of Southeast Portland in an old Toyota Winnebago. It has a backwoods down-home sound mixed in with fancy acoustic guitar. Song topics include shooting a bad dog, taking a drive in an old relic, getting beat down by the women and even being chased by a grizzly bear. Feature tracks include Shotgun Wedding, American Car and Yellow Dress. Originally recorded and replicated in 2011 it has sat in a vault at the back of his dads barbershop awaiting the perfect CD release show. Lance: Lance is a 40 year old singer/songwriter and guitar extraordinaire from the Portland area. He actually started on the drums first at the age of 2. After playing the drums with the family band from the age of 10 to 12 he switched over to the guitar and never looked back. The family band played country music at different events from grange hall dances to the Morrow County Rodeo out in Heppner. After graduating high school he joined the Air Force and continued playing in a variety make shift bands with various military members. It was during this time that he started writing songs on the acoustic guitar. After the military he moved back to Portland and played for 5 years in an underground band called Leeside. After his Leeside years he continued writing in isolation for around 8 years until he was 35. It was at this time that he got serious about music and started playing out in public. At first at open mics then at various venues around Portland including the Aladdin Theater. Over the last 10 years he has released various solo albums that have been on both college radio and extreme videos. The Musicians: The backing musicians on Motorhome include some of Portlands finest. The Watertower Bucket Boys' Kenny Feinstein, Josh Rabie and Cory Goldman pitched in on banjo, fiddle, and mandolin. Ezza Rose, Kory Quinn, Cait Olds, Sarah Anderson, Jake Kelly and Mike James provided backing vocals throughout the album. Bryan Daste played Steel guitar on Old Timer. John Vecchiarelli and William Joersz played drums and stand-up bass respectively. He even drummed up Aunt Lorraine for some piano work.
