ABOUT THE ALBUM
Bach: The Six Unaccompanied Cello Suites - The 1983 Sessions / 2023 marks the 40th Anniversary of Yo-Yo Ma's first recording of Bach's six cello suites. These works are considered to be among Bach's greatest compositions and Yo-Yo Ma's exuberant and masterful interpretations would set a new standard for the performance of Bach's instrumental music. This triple-vinyl picture disc release in a tri-fold jacket features Anna Magdalena Bach's manuscript pages of the suites reproduced on each vinyl side as well as session photos, portraits and reproductions of original recording session paperwork not included in previous releases plus a new essay by the original producer, Richard Einhorn.
