ABOUT THE ALBUM
As C418, composer and producer Daniel Rosenfelddesigns sounds to resonate in both physical andpixelated realms. Best known for his originalsoundtracks to Minecraft, the single best-sellingvideo game of all time, he's developed adiscography of instrumental music over the lastdecade that traverses electronic pop patterns,neo-classical dreamscapes, and sparse ambientmotifs. The latter element has broken from the"8-bit" pigeonholing of game music and earned himaccolades that reference artists like Erik Satie (TheGuardian) and Brian Eno (VICE). In 2015, after quietlyself-releasing Minecraft Volume Alpha and MinecraftVolume Beta, Rosenfeld partnered with GhostlyInternational to reissue Minecraft Volume Alpha onvinyl and CD. The release garnered attention fromproper music critics and the gaming communityalike, becoming one of the most sought afterrecords in the Ghostly catalog. Following severalrestocks of Alpha to fervent fan response, thesoundtrack's second installment got it's first pressingin 2020. Originally self-released in 2013, thecollection features tracks that were "silently" addedto Minecraft during it's music updates and a few thatnever officially entered the game. Across VolumeBeta, Rosenfeld's unmistakable abilities are ondisplay; he creates a sweeping variety of musicalideas that mirror the limitless universe of Minecraft.
